For Christmas this year we purchase a VTech Digital Camera for Amara! This handy little device lets her express her creativity while standing up to the demanding needs of a toddlers life! She loved carrying the camera around taking random pictures and playing games, that is until the batteries wore down. It took us a while, due to a number of things going on the last few months, but we finally sat down and uploaded some of the shots from her camera!

The shots are up on our picture site. We’ll be adding more to the gallery as we get the camera back from her again!

For those of you who didn’t know, Amara officially came into this world four years ago today. Those four years have been an absolute trip and a joy and I am looking forward to the many years to come!

The Wedding

On Saturday October 31, 2009 Melissa’s brother got married. The ceremony was unique and very beautiful! Amara got a chance to be a flower girl with her cousin Elizabeth. This time we actually manage to snag more than one shot. The link to the gallery is at the end of the post. We do have a request, anyone who was at the wedding and managed to grab a shot of any of the family holding Baby Michael we would like to get a copy of those photo’s! Melissa managed to grab a couple of video’s too, but since we are still not in the office I am not around the tools I need for editing them. I will upload those when we get back in next week!

It’s a cool and wet morning this Halloween, but our spirits are certainly bright as we are waking up waiting to welcome Melissa’s brother Mike and his fiance Heidi into the realm of marriage! It’s going to be a busy and fun day and we would just like to take a moment out early to say: Congratulations!

The end of August and the month of September certainly has been a busy time for us. Between paperwork for the passports and schedule planning for our trip to our Canadian family we’ve barely had the time to take any photo’s. Of course we did manage to squeeze in a snapshot or two as well as also turn our websites upside down completely!

So here is a quick run down of what’s been going on:

The bad news: Melissa finally got her test results back from State Board and while she did pass one test, she missed the second test by a mere 5 questions. While Melissa was crestfallen about it initially, she has returned to her studies with renewed determination and is looking forward to retaking the test in December.

The good news: If you were unfortunate enough to be around us at the end of August and beginning of September you know that we were having a trying time getting the passports together for both Michael and Melissa. Michael’s was relatively easy and the Post Office even redid his photographs for free. Melissa’s on the other hand kept getting rejected, first the photo was too light and then it was too dark! In the end it all worked out and the passports are all taken care of! This of course means we can attend Melissa’s brothers wedding at the end of October without trying to figure out a way back into the US!

The adorable: This year marked the 3rd Oktoberfest Zinzinnati that Amara has gotten to attend since she has been born, and of course Michael’s first! While we did get pictures I have not gotten them off of the camera yet. When I do I will be sure to make a post!

Of course there is a lot more going on, but thats content for another post! until next time have a good one!

It’s been a busy couple of months with far too little updated! Today I remedy that with some pictures taken from my Camera Phone. I have uploaded several pictures to the Baby Michael, Baby Amara and Toddler Amara galleries. Of course the Baby Amara pictures have been sitting on my phone for a while, I finally grabbed them off the MicroSD card with the other pictures and put them up. Some of the Baby Michael pictures are some of the first images I captured just after his birth!

As much as things change with our children they stay the same, we snagged this image today at lunch:

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone. My parents are in town so we will be celebrating our freedom with a day out and about hitting some of our favorite culinary stops (such as Jungle Jims and SugarCraft)! Of course today is marked by the ultra adorable Amara going to the front windows loudly asking “Grandpa where are you?” Anyway, back into the kitchen I go to finish making the breakfast of Ebelskivers.

Updates

It has been a while since we have updated the blog and for good reason! With a 2 year old, a newborn and two working parents it gets a little difficult to actually post to the blog. We have however been making edits to the Photo Site these past few months. Both the galleries for the kids have been updated with new images and such. Right now we are honored to have our good friend Emily in town to meet Michael. Right now, She, Amara, Michael and mommy are headed outside to go play in the Elmo Sprinkler!

Holy crap an update!!!

I’ve been super busy since I got home from the hospital with Michael, to be honest I was over doing it. Got a little too excited and carried away with my body and how I wasn’t immobile after having a VBAC instead of another c-section and I actually popped two of the episiotomy stitches (no restitching was required). I also repeatedly exhausted myself by walking too much (did a 2hr hike in Ikea for starters when my parents were in town), heading up and down stairs, etc… which equals super swollen ankles worse than the edema I had while pregnant.

Anywho, the birth was a piece of cake in retrospect to Amara’s, I could of done without the back labor pain though (but that’s why some nice person invented epidurals). We went in April 1st at 3:30am, was induced at 4am and Michael was completely out with only four pushes at 5:17pm that evening. My boy is no fool, he waited until after 12pm!

We are adjusting to caring for a toddler and infant pretty well I’d say, I’m very proud of Amara. It was really rough at first with all the family in town, but now that everyone has been gone, the tantrums are less frequent as far of jealous with Michael is concerned. She’s becoming quite protective and helpful big sister. Bryan’s been busy with Neurokode and looking for work also, he keeps popping upstairs for snuggles and kisses from the kids… nice he is here this time around. With Amara as a newborn was on site all the time and I got so stir crazy to talk to someone.

I return to work this weekend on Sunday, starting four days a week, everyone has been busy with the nail season and I’m looking forward to making some money and helping out financially (even if only a little bit)

I graduated from Massage therapy at SW college yesterday, only I didn’t go to the ceremony. Went to my friends while I was still pregnant and decided it was so mediocre and pathetic I’d of had more fun sitting at home with a rusty nail in my foot. State board test in in the beginning of June, second Tuesday, up in Columbus… I’m going to be increasing my study load bringing books to work and reading at night and when breastfeeding to help engrave the material in my sub cranium.

Looking forward to being able to practice my trade and really making some money, when the money starts rolling in Bryan is staying home with the kids and letting me take care of him for a few years.

The condo is really coming along, we’ve had LOTS of help from our family, its really feeling more homey and near finished. I love our family beyond words.

Anyway, that’s about it. Sorry we haven’t been active. New pictures are up on the site.
